Embrace the Struggle

slice of motivation Apr 20, 2020

Hi everyone. I just wanted to reach out today to those people who are probably having a bit of a rough time at the moment and struggling, whether it be financially or mentally. In this tough situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, it's obviously a really challenging time for a lot of people. So I wanted to send a bit of a message to those people who are really finding it tough to get through this stage.

I think it's important to really take it one day at a time and stay really present in your mindsets. Stay really present in what you're trying to do and take it day-by-day. It's something that we're all very unsure of as to how to deal with a situation like this and we never know how we're going to deal with it until we're thrown into the deep end. I guess that's what the challenging part about all of this, is that there's no blueprint for how we have to deal with it and I'm in the same situation at the moment too.

It's okay to admit that we're struggling with something.

It's important to reach out to people that you trust and believe in that can give you some great advice, because at the end of the day we all need mentors, we all need people that we can confide in. But it's okay to be vulnerable too. It's okay to put yourself out there and say that you are struggling because there are a lot of people in the same boat. It's okay to struggle, but it's about finding a way through this. We have to find a way to get through each day and the one thing that I've tried to do in my own life every single day is keep myself busy and active. Don't let yourself sit in the same spot and overthink situations. Put a plan in place for every single day and try and achieve that set of goals for every morning that you wake up. Set yourself a little goal to how you're going to achieve something and don't stop till you do it.

I think that's helped me a little bit over the last week and a half of being in isolation. Every single day I have a plan of what I want to try and achieve. You can all do the same, there's nothing stopping you. It doesn't matter if you're a tennis player, if you're a parent, if you're a tennis coach or if you're just an everyday citizen out in the world trying to get through this ridiculous situation we're going through. Set yourself something you're trying to achieve.

Write a book, write your diary or do something that you're trying to achieve. I know we can all get through this, but we all need something to keep us in line. It's no different to a train - you want to stay on the tracks. So create your tracks with your goals, stay on them and if you need help don't be scared to ask someone you really trust him.

I hope you can all get through this. We're all in it together, so let's stick together, stay present, stay focused, stay home and look after yourselves. We can do this all as one and I wish you all stay well and stay in touch with everyone that you need to stay in touch with. To keep yourself mentally in check, enjoy a smile and enjoy your loved ones.
